Y20 expected to provide recommendations to improve quality of youth

Jakarta The Ministry of Youth and Sports expects the Youth 20 (Y20), the official forum for youth representatives from G20 countries, to provide recommendations to improve the quality of human resources (HR) and life of young people.

The statement was conveyed by Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali, and read out by Assistant Deputy for Youth Partnerships and Awards at the ministryWisler Manalu, during the pre-Y20 Summit 2022 in Manokwari, West Papua, which was broadcast live on the Indonesian Youth Diplomacy’s YouTube page on Saturday.

According to Minister Amali, the topic of diversity and inclusion, which has been brought up for the first time in Y20’s history, is an important issue to be discussed because marginalized and vulnerable groups often include the youth.

Under the topic of diversity and inclusion this time there are two sub-themes, namely inclusive education and creative economy, both of which, according to the Minister of Youth and Sports, can improve the quality of Indonesian youth.

“Focusing on increasing the capacity and quality of human resources in the largest young generation in history can be a powerful way to achieve social development, therefore, we are pleased with the topics raised at this forum so that we can receive recommendations from you on how to improve the quality of human resources and to increase the quality of life of young people,” the minister said.

It is imperative for youth and all people to prepare and provide concrete actions, coordinated solutions, and clear frameworks to address inequality as well as empower the vulnerable and the marginalized, he added.
