Indonesia to hold WWF 2nd Stakeholders Meeting in September

Indonesia will hold the 2nd International Stakeholders Meeting of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in September 2023, Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said on Thursday.

The 10th WWF is scheduled to take place in Bali next year.

At the closing of the 10th WWF’s kick-off meeting here on the same day, he said the two-day meeting produced six topics that will be discussed at next year’s WWF meeting.

The first topic concerned water for humans and nature and pertained to water management and its relationship with humans and nature.

The second topic covered water security and prosperity, while the third topic concerned disaster risk reduction and management which pertained to water management and efforts to handle disasters.

Cooperation was also discussed at the meeting through the topic of cooperation and hydro diplomacy.

Water management from a financial standpoint was discussed through the fifth topic.

The last topic was knowledge and technology.

The kick-off meeting also discussed the agendas of several countries and the expected results.

Indonesia also showcased its readiness to host the 10th WWF in 2024 at the meeting.

The government is targeting to attract 17 thousand participants and 30 thousand visitors from 172 countries for the 10th WWF in Bali.
