Jakarta (ANTARA) – Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan said on Tuesday his ministry is ready to transform in order to support economic development in the country.The commitment to the transformation is scheduled to be discussed at the ministry’s working meeting on March 12, 2023, in Bandar Lampung, Lampung Province. “The 2023 Trade Ministry Working Meeting will be focused on synergizing the work programs of the Trade Ministry and stakeholders to support economic development that has added value and is sustainable,” Hasan stated in a written statement released here on Tuesday. The meeting will be attended by around 400 participants, including officials from the ministry, regional trade offices, trade representative offices abroad, business players, and academicians. The working meeting will be themed “Trade Transformation Supports Value-Added and Sustainable Economic Development.” The meeting is aimed at coordinating and synchronizing the ministry’s work plan for 20232024 and obtaining information and inputs from stakeholders in the trade sector. The participants will develop several formulations to support value-added and sustainable economic development, and improve supply chain efficiency. They will also discuss optimizing the use of information technology in supporting a quality domestic market ecosystem, improving the quality of domestic products, and increasing export competitiveness. “Through the 2023 working meeting, the ministry is expected to be able to generate formulations to support Indonesia’s trade performance,” Hasan said. The meeting will feature a number of speakers, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, National Development Planning Minister Suharso Monoarfa, and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
