Jakarta Indonesia received a total of eight million doses of the Sinovac vaccine in finished form as a means to support the implementation of the national COVID-19 vaccination program.
Spokesperson for Vaccination at the Health Ministry Siti Nadia Tarmizi stated that four million doses of vaccine were received in the 121st batch of vaccines that arrived on Friday, November 12. The same quantity of vaccine was received in the 122nd batch on Saturday.
“The smooth arrival of the vaccine has made efforts to accelerate and expedite the vaccination program more optimal,” Tarmizi noted in a written statement received here on Saturday.
The spokesperson remarked that the arrival of eight million vaccines had bolstered the national vaccine supply. The government remains committed to bringing in vaccines in order to ensure their availability in Indonesia as a measure to protect citizens.
The number of vaccinated Indonesians continues to grow. The government aims to vaccinate at least 123 million Indonesians through the administration of complete doses of vaccine by the end of 2021.
Tarmizi deemed vaccination as a crucial effort to not only protect oneself but also to safeguard families and the entire community.
“Immediately do get vaccinated to safeguard yourself from the risk of serious illness, (in the event of) infection with the COVID-19 virus and also to prevent a spike in cases,” she stated.
