Gov’t puts spotlight on efforts to assist women entrepreneurs

Jakarta Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga, during the B20 Side Event: Women in Business Action Council, on Friday, highlighted the government’s efforts to develop the skills of women entrepreneurs.

During the event, themed “Accelerating the Inclusion of Women MSMEs in the Global Economy,” the minister noted that these efforts encompassed trainings and support related to business digitalization, financial literacy, and digital literacy.

Business 20 (B20) is one of the engagement groups within Indonesia’s 2022 G20 Presidency in the form of a dialogue forum with the global business community.

G20 is an international forum comprising 19 countries that work together to handle major issues. Indonesia is holding the presidency of the grouping this year.

The government had also unveiled the Inclusive Finance National Strategy (SNKI) for women in June 2020 in an effort to provide financial support to women-owned small businesses and women entrepreneurs, she noted.
