Ancol Dreamland Park records 65,000 visitors on day after Eid

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The number of visitors at Ancol Dreamland Park in Pademangan, North Jakarta, increased by 58.6 percent on Tuesday, or the day after Eid, compared to on the day of the Islamic festival.

“Yesterday, (there were) 38 thousand (visitors). Today at (4 p.m. local time), 65 thousand visitors came,” Ancol Dreamland corporate communications official Ariyadi Eko Nugroho informed here on Tuesday.

At the time, he said some two thousand visitors had already left.

Based on the visitor arrivals report at 4 p.m. local time, eight thousand cars and 5,700 motorcycles passed through the Ancol entrance.

Their number increased 19 percent compared to Eid 2021.

“This is higher if we compare it to (Eid) last year. Last year, there were 32 thousand people in a day. This year, yesterday, the total was 38 thousand,” Nugroho informed.

To reduce queues at the gate, Ancol asked visitors to enter the area through five gates that have been opened for the Eid holiday week—the East Gate, West Gate, Marina Gate, pedestrian-only busway gate, and south gate.

Prospective visitors were strongly advised to buy tickets on the website www.ancol.com, a maximum of D-1 prior to their arrival.

These efforts were made to prevent overcrowding, as the Level 2 community activity restrictions (PPKM) at tourist attractions cap visitor capacity at 75 percent.

Although 75 percent of Ancol’s capacity is estimated to be around 90 thousand people, the management is aiming to offer a quota of 55 thousand visitors initially.

Once some of those 55 thousand visitors leave, Ancol would allow more people to come in, in accordance with the number of tourists who leave the area.

Nugroho said that Ancol is also conducting traffic engineering within the area. All visitors are directed to the west or toward Fantasy World (Dufan), then they may enter the east coast area of Ancol.

The Transportation Office is also assisting with towing vehicles that are parked inappropriately so as not to block other vehicles.

Ancol is also operating the Wara Wiri Bus and the Sato-sato Tourist Train to cater to visitors without vehicles. The vehicles operate all day.

Each day, 10 Wara Wiri Buses take visitors from one destination to another. Meanwhile, the Sato-sato Tourist Train has four cars for ferrying visitors from the east coast to Dufan.

“Both (Wara Wiri and Sato-sato) are facilities that are free for all visitors,” he added.
