Head of the Jakarta Health Service, Widyastuti, has said that there have been no reports of stocks of COVID-19 vaccines running out in villages in Jakarta.
“If there is a rumor about that, I need to check first, in which village. Because so far there is no report about empty stocks of COVID-19 vaccine,” Widyastuti remarked on Friday.
The Jakarta Health Service always maintains communication with the Health Ministry to fulfill vaccine stocks to the village level, she said.
“The public’s high interest in getting vaccinated makes the vaccine stock run quickly. This means that the speed of vaccine distribution is very important,” she added.
The speed of vaccine distribution must be accompanied by the speed of calculating the daily capacity and the number of vaccines available, in order to serve residents optimally, she said.
“There are several vaccination centers operating, but for some reason, they do not open. As a result, residents who will receive vaccine injections move to other vaccination centers whose capacity is not as large as the previous one, so the queues become overflowing,” she explained.
Earlier, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had assured that the Jakarta government had matched the data on the number of vaccines available against that of vaccine recipients on the JAKI application so that they could help residents get vaccinated.
This step was taken to avoid complaints from residents who had registered through JAKI, but the designated vaccine center had run out of vaccine stocks, he explained.
“Regarding the JAKI registration for vaccination, there will be data synchronization between the number of available vaccines and the number of residents who register,” Baswedan added.
