Crurated Partners With More than 50 World Renowned European Winemakers to Raise Funds for Ukraine Relief Efforts

Coveted producers including Louis Roederer Cristal, Domaine Meo-Camuzet, and Domaine Dujac offer up lots of wine for auction with the initial pre-auction value at $100,000

Each bottle sold includes access to an exclusive NFT that verifies authenticity, ownership history, vintage, vineyard location, varietal, and more

LONDON, March 12, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The world’s top wine producers are responding to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine in an innovative way. Crurated, the London-based membership wine community designed to connect connoisseurs with world-class producers, has announced it is dedicating the week of March 14-20, 2022 for The All Heart Auction, an online event auctioning rare wines from world renowned producers to support humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian people. Selected producers donating wines for the auction include Louis Roederer Cristal, Domaine Meo-Camuzet, and Domaine Dujac among many others. The initial value of the more than 250 bottles of wine pre-auction totals $100,000. A full list of all producers participating is below.

Members and non-members alike are encouraged to participate and bid. Interested bidders are invited to register for an account at www.crurated.com. Non-members can sign-up for a free Explorer membership, allowing anyone to submit bids on the Crurated platform and participate in the fundraising event.

100% of the funds raised from the auction will be distributed to Red Cross, Save The Children, UNHCR, and UNICEF.

The team from Crurated has also developed a unique platform that offers clients an accompanying NFT with each purchase. Recorded forever on the blockchain, the NFT verifies authenticity of the bottle and provides other important details including ownership history, vintage, vineyard location, varietal, and other key details. The NFTs are easily accessible by tapping on an NFC or RFID enabled phone. The bottle history is also updated via a new blockchain recording anytime the wine is resold and the token moves from one client to another. The company uses Polygon technology for NFTs and blockchain.

“It has been amazing watching the world unite to help the people of Ukraine. Our auction initiative represents how I feel about wine and its ability to offer such a generous gift to the world,” said Alfonso de Gaetano, Founder of Crurated. “Our platform is also perfectly suited for this initiative because we automatically assign an NFT for every bottle that is brought into our warehouse and loaded onto the platform. We are anticipating an exciting auction with generous donors pitching in to help lessen the humanitarian crisis.”

“We have had a special link to Ukraine for more than 20 years and have sponsored a charitable event to help young dancers and their families in Lviv. We’ve also raised funds for the Lviv pediatric hospital,” said Jean-Nicolas & Nathalie Méo, of Meo-Camuzet. “Some of the children we had at home for summer vacation are probably old enough to be fighting now, and we dread the thought of their involvement in this war. We hope that the very special wines we have donated for the auction will receive an appropriate welcome and help support the needs of the Ukrainian civilians.”

Other world-class winemakers participating in the auction include: Larmandier-Bernier, Pascal Agrapart, Pierre Péters, Suenen, Bérêche & Fils, Doyard, Moussé Fils, Salon, Vilmart & Cie, Billecart-Salmon, Geoffroy, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Caroline Colin-Morey, Robert Groffier, Père & Fils, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Caroline Colin-Morey, Robert Groffier Père & Fils, Georges Mugneret-Gibourg, Arnaud Baillot, Duroché, Fourrier, Denis Mortet, Dujac, Chateau Pavie, Tenuta Sette Ponti, Ceretto, Massolino, Poderi Aldo Conterno, Grattamacco, Casanova di Neri, Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona, Bartolo Mascarello, Biondi Santi, Argiano, Mascarello Giuseppe e Figlio, Il Marroneto, Giacomo Conterno, Montevertine, Tenuta di Trinoro, Elio Altare, Fontanafredda, Borgogno, and Roberto Voerzio.

Indonesian gov’t must aim for 100% vaccination coverage: expert

Jakarta The Indonesian Government needs to target vaccination coverage of 100 percent so that no one is left out of efforts toward building herd immunity against COVID-19, an epidemiologist from the University of Indonesia has said.

“In my opinion, the target of 70 percent is a miss, so 100 percent (vaccination coverage is necessary). All citizens must have immunity, do not leave (out) the other 30 percent,” Pandu Riono remarked during a webinar on ‘Preparing to Live in Endemic,’ accessed from here on Saturday.

According to Riono, while the government can set the target much higher than 70 percent, the 100-percent goal is feasible.

“However, if you look at the survey in November and December 2021, the immunity level of the Indonesian population is already high,” he noted.

Ninety percent of the population already has immunity, he said. The agglomeration areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi have the highest immunity level because of high vaccination rates or due to many people getting infected with COVID-19.

However, there is still about 15 percent of the population that has never been infected nor vaccinated against COVID-19, he pointed out.

“The 15-percent group does not have protection to the body and this is dangerous,” he explained.

This can also worsen the risk of fatality among the elderly and those with chronic comorbid diseases, he cautioned.

Even though the severity of infection caused by the Omicron variant of COVID-19 is not as high as the Delta variant, vaccination coverage must continue to be bolstered and targeted at all communities, he stressed.

“If we want to end the pandemic, the population immunity must be improved. If you can do all of it, why 70 percent? The target must be done at the highest and quickest if we want to be the first country in the world or in the Asian region to end the pandemic,” Riono said.

IPU Congress to push Indonesian tourism: BKSAP

Bali Island is one of the tourist destinations that are mostly visited by tourists from all over the world.

Jakarta The 144th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Congress, which will take place in Bali from March 22 to 24, 2022, will serve as a platform for promoting Indonesian tourism, a lawmaker has said.

“Bali Island is one of the tourist destinations that are mostly visited by tourists from all over the world,” member of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Board (BKSAP) of the House of Representatives (DPR), Kamrussamad, said in Jakarta on Saturday.

The event will reflect Indonesia’s success in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, Kamrussamad said.

As the President of the G20, Indonesia would also be able to prove that it can implement the health protocols and conduct vaccinations to the maximum extent possible, he added.

President Jokowi to camp at ground zero of new capital

Penajam, East Kalimantan President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to camp at the site for the new national capital, Nusantara, which is currently under construction in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan, on Monday (March 14, 2022).

He will be accompanied by the governors of East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and North Kalimantan.

“Some 33 governors are expected to come to the camping site (where the President will stay),” East Kalimantan Regional Secretariat Administrative Bureau head H.M. Syafranuddin informed in Penajam on Saturday.

“But only five governors will stay and camp with the President at the zero point of Nusantara,” he said.

As part of the camping activities, President Widodo will perform the Kendi Nusantara ritual with the 33 governors.

The governors have been instructed to bring water and soil from their regions, then combine and store them in Kendi Nusantara, or the Nusantara Jug, at ground zero.

East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor has been asked to bring water and soil from two regions in his province: the districts of Kutai Kartanegara and Paser, Syafranuddin informed.

This is because Nusantara spans the Kutai Kartanegara Sultanate as well as the Paser Sultanate, so the water and soils will serve as a symbol representing the two sultanates of East Kalimantan.

Marine debris removal efforts become national agenda: ministry

The marine debris handling movement is also being carried out globally since the matter has become a global problem.

Tangerang Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry Alue Dohong said a solid marine debris handling and reduction activity held as part of a series of events for commemorating Forester Service Day must become a regular program.

He joined a coastal clean-up activity at Teluknaga Sub-district, Tangerang District, Banten Province, to commemorate the day.

The activity was conducted simultaneously at other six locations across Indonesia.

The deputy minister said that the national solid marine debris reduction movement must be carried out in collaboration with local governments, the private sector, and the community.

The Indonesian Government has taken various strategic steps to reduce marine debris by 30 percent and handle 70 percent of it by 2025, he added.

“We have been monitoring the amounts of marine debris in Indonesia since 2017. In 2021, it was found that 40 percent of waste found at beaches was plastic waste. Hence, the matter must be immediately addressed by all parties,” he urged.

The national coastal-clean up activity is a part of the government’s concrete strategies for responding to the new challenge of maintaining marine ecosystems amid acute plastic and microplastic waste pollution, he said.

Passenger volume up following travel rule relaxation: ministry

Yogyakarta The number of passengers using various modes of mass transportation has shown an upward trend after the lifting of RT-PCR or antigen test requirements for travel, the Ministry of Transportation has informed.

“The policy has only been running for four days. The exact figures are not yet available, but if we look at the condition at train stations and airports, there has been an increase in passenger volume,” Transportation Ministry Spokesperson Adita Irawati said during a visit to Balai Yasa Yogyakarta on Saturday.

The Ministry of Transportation will continue to monitor passenger movement on mass transportation to determine the exact quantum of increase in passenger volumes.

“We will see how it develops in the next week,” she said.

Even though travel regulations have been eased, passengers and transportation officers must continue to follow the health protocols during trips, Irawati added.

The government decided to ease travel regulations by taking several factors into account such as the vaccination achievement in Indonesia, which is already quite high, and the start of booster vaccinations.

In addition, it also judged that people are getting used to pandemic travel patterns, namely the observance of health protocols during trips.

The pattern of community movement since the relaxation of travel conditions will be the subject of a study conducted by the Ministry of Transportation to determine policies during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.

“Technically, in terms of transportation, we are always ready to welcome the Ramadan month and the Eid al-Fitr homecoming,” Irawati said.

Regarding the policy on travel conditions during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming, she said that cross-sectoral discussions will be carried out with other ministries.

The Ministry of Transportation will also conduct a study to gauge the public’s interest in going home for Eid al-Fitr, and take this into account while adjusting policies.

“For example, a number of infrastructures must be prepared regarding passenger capacity regulation. The decision will be made after our coordination meeting,” she informed.

Indonesia presses for ASEAN recovery at 41st HLFT-EL

There needs to be a strong commitment among ASEAN member states to discuss ASEAN’s strategic issues in the future.

Jakarta Indonesia pushed for an economic revival in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region during the 41st Meeting of the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Economic Integration (HLFT-EI).

To achieve that end, integration is needed to rebuild and determine the post-2025 ASEAN vision, the economic coordinating minister’s special staff for strengthening international economic cooperation, Rizal Affandi Lukman, said while chairing the meeting.

“There needs to be a strong commitment among ASEAN member states to discuss ASEAN’s strategic issues in the future,” he observed, according to an official statement received here on Saturday.

The 41st HLFT-EI started with a discussion on Priority Economic Deliverables (PED) under Cambodia’s ASEAN chairmanship in 2022, which has received full support from ASEAN member states to promote digital transformation, economic innovation, and regional economic recovery, he said.

All ASEAN member states also support the accelerated implementation of the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework (ACRF), particularly to encourage the operation of the ASEAN Travel Corridor Arrangement Framework (ATCAF) and Consolidated Strategy on the Fourth Industrial Revolution for ASEAN that is expected to have a significant impact on the regional digital economy through the application of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA).

Regarding sustainable development, he said that ASEAN member states have warmly welcomed the plan to implement the circular economy framework and conceive the ‘Concept Note on Carbon Neutrality.’

“These initiatives are a milestone for creating a conducive ecosystem for circular transition and contribute to the transition to a low carbon economy,” he added.

Nusantara Capital to be brimming with electric, autonomous vehicles

Jakarta Environment-friendly means of transportation applying state-of-the-art technology, such as autonomous vehicles, would be widely operated in the Nusantara Capital City, according to Ministry of Transportation’s Director General of Land Transportation Budi Setiyadi.

“It is likely that vehicles plying in Nusantara will be autonomous. However, it is still under the process of development,” Setiyadi remarked during the Jakarta Auto Week here on Saturday.

The idea of operating such vehicles aligns with President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi’s) directive that only electric-powered models will be operated in Nusantara in order to nurture the environment.

Nevertheless, the proposal is still being coordinated with the relevant ministry that manages infrastructure issues as the main support for more green vehicles.

“We have prepared it, and the budget is ready this year. Next year’s (budget) has also been prepared and even until the president’s directive is realized,” Setiyadi remarked.

The regulations on autonomous vehicles will also be discussed further for them to be implemented successfully.

“It is because these vehicles do not use drivers. The regulations should be prepared carefully,” he explained.

Earlier, Jokowi had instructed that fossil-fueled vehicles would not be operated in Nusantara Capital.
