Govt encourages young professionals exchange program with Switzerland

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian government encourages the immediate realization of the young professionals exchange program between Indonesia and Switzerland.The young professionals exchange program will be discussed during the Joint Working Group (JWG) 3 that will be held in Switzerland this month, Manpower Ministry’s Secretary GeneralAnwar Sanusinoted through a statement, Thursday. This was agreed upon during a bilateral meeting between Sanusi and Head of International Labour Affairs, SECO Valerie Berset Bircher in Geneva. Sanusi noted that the young professionals exchange program is one of the ministry’s steps to produce more young professionals through the Independent Workforce (TKM) program. “I believe that there are many things that can be developed within this exchange program. This includes strengthening their capacity by giving them training and internship in a Swiss company,” he noted. “This will be the means to internalize ideas that they obtain during the exchange process,” he added. The other matter that was agreed upon relates to the theme to be raised within the JWG 3, specifically manpower readiness in the gig platform, he revealed. “I believe that this theme is very relevant, and we agreed on how this theme can respond as best as it can,” he said. “We prepare Indonesian human resources, so that they have the capacity to run this gig platform,” he stated. The last matter to be discussed in the JWG 3 is training, specifically benchmarking for vocational training institutions in Switzerland. “We agreed that the mechanism that will be used is the combination between seminar and visitation,” he explained.
