At www.rail.online, customers in Europe, Australia, and throughout the world can search for terrific deals on train tickets, knowing they’ll find the best prices and knowledgeable customer service staff all in one place. Rail Online offers quick and simple refunds, giving travelers peace of mind when they book each and every time.

Wood said. “Digital ticketing is poised for major innovation, and James, Lachlan, and Kew are ahead of their time. I am thrilled to be able to support their venture as they move toward making cheap, climate-conscious rail travel a reality for millions.”

Rail.Online is more than just a booking site – it’s a travel companion and comparison platform that makes international adventures all the more achievable. From European rail passes to point-to-point tickets across the United Kingdom, planning a trip is a faster and more affordable experience when using Rail Online. With every search, customers can see all available options for a train ticket and compare prices, amenities, and experiences, as well as receive an easy-to-understand breakdown of when and how often their ticket can be used.

Founded by James Dunne, Lachlan McCallum, and Kew Muthalif, Rail Online has already caught the eye of industry leader SilverRail who signed a contract with the company in 2021. Cameron Jones, Chief Strategy Officer at SilverRail, said, “We’ve been impressed with the founding team that Rail Online has brought to the table. Our companies share a genuine passion for the sector, and we look forward to working with them as they grow.”

“We want to make it as easy and affordable as possible for people to compare, plan and book their next rail adventure,” James Dunne said. “SilverRail has helped us create a platform that offers a seamless booking experience with competitive prices and the ability to self-manage any changes or refunds. With the rapid advancement of digital ticketing in the rail sector, it’s time for a new player, and we’re it.”

The recent investment by Dale Ventures will allow Rail Online to expand further across Europe and into North America.

“We are very excited to have secured the backing of Dale Ventures to help support our company’s goal of promoting the increased use of sustainable forms of transport,” James Dunne said. “With a focus on brilliant technology and customer experience, our mission is to become the world’s most valued and frequently used travel app for rail and public transport.”

i2 Group Extends Analytics Capabilities with Acquisition of Rosoka

OTTAWA, July 21, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — i2 Group (i2), a wholly owned subsidiary of N. Harris Computer Corporation (Harris), is extending its portfolio of solutions for intelligence analysis through the acquisition of Rosoka Software Inc (Rosoka).

This investment by Harris comes only six months since it acquired i2 and demonstrates their commitment to i2’s continued growth. The acquisition will strengthen i2’s capabilities in the delivery of its mission-critical software that supports homeland security, state and local law enforcement, and financial crime investigations.

The technology secured by the acquisition of Rosoka means that when it comes to data analysis, unstructured data is no longer a barrier. This capability, which is now available in the i2 portfolio, will allow data analysts and investigators to extract insights automatically from a variety of documents such as Microsoft® Word, PDFs, and web pages. It will allow a multitude of new unstructured data sources to be immediately exploited by i2’s global user base.

Jamie Caffrey, Executive Vice President of i2 Group, said: “Bringing the Rosoka solution into i2 is a game changer. It further enhances our products’ capabilities and will improve an analyst’s time to value by deriving insight from the mass of unstructured data they confront every day. Documents can now be directly imported into the i2 product they already use and be immediately ready for analysis.”

“Harris’ support of i2 extends beyond this acquisition and is backed by the significant investment in both our expert teams and the solutions we provide. We have recently released software updates across the entire product suite and this acquisition builds upon our mission to provide the most capable and trusted global intelligence analysis platform.”

Gregory Roberts, CEO and Founder of Rosoka, said: “We already have a splendid working relationship with Jamie and the i2 team and to join the Harris family is an amazing opportunity for Rosoka’s solutions to be adopted more widely. I look forward to working with i2 to provide even greater capabilities to data analysts and investigators globally.”

With an estimated 80% of all enterprise data being unstructured, Rosoka will be a force multiplier for the i2 product line. It will allow i2 users to consistently and repeatably analyze documents in over 200 languages to extract key relationships, geospatial locations, and the underlying sentiment in those associations.

As a key historic partner of i2, the Rosoka brand will become part of i2’s business. The unstructured document data capability is available immediately in the new i2 TextChart product line.

Ministry shifts six Afghan refugees to Jakarta

In the first six months of this year, the Law and Human Rights Ministry shifted six Afghan refugees from East Nusa Tenggara to Jakarta ahead of their departure to other countries.

Head of intelligence and immigration at the ministry’s East Nusa Tenggara office, Christian Penna, said that the six refugees were moved at the beginning of July 2022.

“Starting from January to July 2022, there are already six refugees sent to Jakarta. All of those refugees are from Afghanistan,” he added.

There were some reasons for the Afghan refugees’ transfer, he added.

The first reason was to facilitate the transfer of the refugees to other countries selected by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The second reason was the refugees’ medical records, which showed that they were suffering from a disease that could not be treated at East Nusa Tenggara’s health facilities.

“If (these refugees are sent to) Jakarta, of course, there will be many medical facilities which they can utilize,” he said.

With the shifting of the six Afghanistan refugees, the number of refugees taking shelter temporarily in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara has reached 197, he informed.

Of the 197 refugees, three are Pakistani nationals and the rest are Afghan nationals. They are currently residing at three inns in Kupang city.

DPR mulls proposal to merge buffer cities with Jakarta

Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) is mulling a proposal to merge Jakarta’s buffer cities with the province in the amendment to Law No. 29 of 2007 on Jakarta Special Capital Region governance.

Earlier, Depok Mayor Mohammad Idris had suggested that Jakarta’s buffer cities, Depok, Bogor, and Bekasi, be merged with Jakarta to form a Greater Jakarta province. The suggestion had received mixed reactions.

Idris argued that issues in Jakarta’s buffer cities can be addressed more conveniently if the cities are merged with Jakarta.

“Regarding the Depok Mayor’s proposal to include Depok, Bogor, and Bekasi to form Greater Jakarta, DPR RI Commission II will consider the proposal while deliberating the Jakarta Law revision,” DPR RI legislator Rifqinizsamy Karsayuda said here on Friday.

The law regulating Jakarta’s capital status needs to be amended following the enactment of Law No. 3 of 2022 on National Capital, which finalizes the relocation of the national capital from Jakarta to the new city of Nusantara in East Kalimantan, he added.

Karsayuda explained that the revision could regulate either the formalization of Greater Jakarta as a province or the designation of another special status for Jakarta, soon to be a former capital.

“Because of its special status (as specified by) Article 18 of the Constitution, (the national capital) must be differentiated from other provinces in Indonesia,” the legislator said.

After Jakarta loses its capital status, he explained, another issue that must be considered is the proposal to elevate administrative cities in Jakarta as fully fledged cities with autonomous status on par with other Indonesian cities.

If the elevation of Jakarta administrative cities as fully fledged cities is accepted, they will have their own legislatures and directly-elected mayors, the legislator noted.

“We will discuss those issues by the latest at the end of 2022 to prevent dualism on the juridical aspect of our national capital,” he informed.

As long as Law No. 29 of 2007 is not amended, Indonesia will have two capitals de jure, which are Jakarta and Nusantara, Karsayuda added.

Children’s Day must become momentum to improve children’s welfare: DPR

The National Children’s Day on July 23 must serve as a momentum for all parties to improve the welfare of children by fulfilling their rights, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Puan Maharani, has said.

“The fulfillment of children’s rights will become a guarantee for Indonesia’s future. The 2022 National Children’s Day must become a momentum to improve children’s welfare,” Maharani said in a statement issued here on Friday.

The state must ensure that Indonesian children enjoy their rights, starting from the right to a family environment and alternative care, basic health and welfare, education, leisure time and cultural activities, and special protection for children, she added.

The 1945 Constitution regulates the provision of protection and guarantees of human rights, including the right to obtain welfare for children, she noted.

To realize them, the DPR has initiated the Maternal and Child Welfare Bill (RUU KIA), she said.

“RUU KIA was initiated to create superior human resources that will make Indonesia move forward,” she remarked.

Through the bill, the state is obliged to ensure the welfare of mothers and children. By safeguarding the welfare of mothers, the state can also secure the welfare of children as the nation’s next generation.

“RUU KIA aims to create a sense of security and peace for mothers and children, including improving the quality of life for mothers and children to achieve physical and spiritual well-being,” Maharani said.

The House Speaker noted that RUU KIA would guarantee efforts to respect, promote, protect, and fulfill the rights of mothers and children as well as protect mothers and children from acts of violence, neglect, all discriminatory acts, and other human rights violations.

She invited the people to always provide protection to children, including by supporting RUU KIA, which has become a DPR initiative bill.

Reopening of Tebet Eco Park ensures visitors’ comfort: Governor

The Jakarta provincial government said the reopening of Tebet Eco Park in South Jakarta will guarantee the comfort of visitors, Governor Anies Baswedan remarked here Friday.

“We want to ensure that the place is comfortable and clean, and visitors can also be disciplined (in parking their vehicles),” the Jakarta governor stated.

The governor remarked that the park, with an area spanning seven hectares, will reopen in the near future, though he has not confirmed the exact date.

Meanwhile, Baswedan noted that as Tebet Eco Park is designated as a low-emission zone, only vehicles owned by residents living in proximity to the park can drive through the surrounding roads.

“For the public looking to use the Tebet Eco Park, a spot will be provided for them to park, so there will be no build-up (of parked cars),” he remarked.

Earlier, the Tebet Eco Park was temporarily closed until the end of June, but the closure was then extended until the end of July 2022.

The decision to temporarily close was announced after the Jakarta provincial government and the South Jakarta city government discussed the problems of street vendors and illegal parking around Tebet Eco Park.

Hence, on Tuesday, June 14, the Jakarta City Parks and City Forest Office announced the temporary closure of Tebet Eco Park via the @tamanhutandki Instagram account.

“The temporary closure of Tebet Eco Park, for park maintenance and facility repairs, (will last) until the end of June 2022,” it said.

The park is known for its “infinity link bridge” that stands six meters high above ground level, offering a new perspective of Jakarta’s skylines. The park brands itself as a place where humans and nature can interact in harmony.

10 p.m. “curfew” for ‘SCBD’ youngsters

Youngsters from Sudirman, Citayam, Bojonggede, and Depok (SCBD) visiting Dukuh Atas, Central Jakarta, have been asked to return home by 10 p.m. at the latest so that they do not miss the last train home.

“Take care of yourselves, take care of the parents’ feelings and worries who gave birth to you, raise you. They do not want to and are very worried that you go home late, especially if you do not go home. You are the future of your family and our nation,” Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said in a post on his Instagram account @arizapatria on Friday.

Some “SCBD” youngsters have been seen hanging out at the venue after 10 p.m., and even sleeping on the bridge in Dukuh Atas, after failing to catch the train home, he pointed out.

Earlier, a viral video showed some teenagers sleeping soundly on a bridge near the BNI City Station without sleeping pads.

The viral video was entitled “The dark side of Citayam Fashion Week.” It alleged that the youngsters who chose to sleep on the bridge were waiting for the morning train to return home.

Officers from the Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) handled the situation by waking them up.

Meanwhile, Patria said that hanging out late at night, even to the point of falling asleep, can increase youngsters’ vulnerability to crime.

He emphasized that 10 p.m. is the time limit for hanging out in the Dukuh Atas area or other city parks in Jakarta.

“We appreciate this cool creativity; we give two thumbs up when (they) use local products. However, it is mandatory to return home by 10 p.m., or before it is even better, so as not to miss the train for those whose homes are in Citayam, Bojonggede, and others,” he said.
