University students backbone of Advanced Indonesia 2045: BPIP

University students are part of the social elite who can become the instigators of social transformation.

Jakarta University students will serve as the backbone for realizing Advanced Indonesia 2045, secretary to the head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP), Achmad Uzair Fauzan, stated at a webinar on Saturday.

Advanced Indonesia 2045 is closely linked to the demographic bonus, or when the Indonesian population is expected to be dominated by people in the productive age category, that is, between the ages of 15 to 64, he explained.

In theory, when a population is dominated by people from the productive age, there are many citizens who are earning an income and who can bolster the economic prosperity of the nation, he explained.

Thus, Indonesia has a huge potential for becoming an advanced nation by 2045, which is why university students, as the engine of social transformation, should optimize this opportunity, he said.

Indonesia’s G20 Presidency should yield real cooperation: Minister

Finance and Sherpa Track will work together to ensure concrete achievements in accordance with the president’s direction. The social and non-governmental group (Engagement Group) will also be implemented in parallel

Jakarta Indonesia’s G20 Presidency in 2022 should result in real cooperation to address the imbalances arising in a post-COVID-19 world, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated.

“Uneven recovery in the fields of health and economy in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge for all countries. Indonesia will prioritize issues pertaining to the imbalance in health recovery, access to vaccines, and global economic recovery,” Hartarto noted in an official statement received here on Saturday.

The minister remarked that next year’s G20 Summit will focus on priority issues, such as inclusive health and economic recovery as well as digital-based economic transformation, although some regulatory differences among countries will hinder even global economic recovery.

In addition, Hartarto stressed that Indonesia will raise the issue of equity in access to technology and funds to accelerate sustainable energy development.

“The momentum of organizing the G20 in 2022 enhances economic diplomacy by drawing up a comprehensive action plan for addressing global economic and health issues in the post-pandemic period,” he expounded.

Indonesia Open: Polii, Rahayu secure ticket to women’s doubles final

Bali Indonesia’s Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu smashed through the semi-finals in the women’s doubles of BWF Super 1000 Indonesia Open tournament, beating Thailand’s Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai on Saturday.

Polii and Rahayu won two straight games, scoring 21-18, 21-14, after struggling for 58 minutes, to beat their third-seeded opponents and win a place in the finals.

“Although the match did not reach one hour, it felt long. (We are) lucky and grateful for today’s result,” Polii remarked when Antara met her after the match in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Saturday.

Polii and Rahayu, who previously clinched gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, played a confident game and were unified in executing attacks. Their serves were brave and accurate.

The match also saw some score-chasing, but the Indonesian pair managed to endure and lead in both games, albeit with difficulty. Kititharakul and Prajongjai, meanwhile, seemed under pressure and could not develop their strategy.

However, the Thai pair received a chance when Polii and Rahayu made a mistake in their rush to win. Seeing an opportunity, Kititharakul and Prajongjai managed to rise and catch up.

Thanks to their solid cohesiveness and communication, Polii and Rahayu managed to gain back control by the time the second game was completed.

“There is still tomorrow. We want to restore our body and mind, eat and sleep well,” Rahayu said about her preparations for her upcoming and first final game of the Indonesia Open.

The victory has increased Polii and Rahayu’s lead in their meeting record to 7–1, and they will face either South Korea or Japan in the final round.

In the semifinals of the upper pool women’s doubles, Baek Ha Na and Lee Yu Rim will soon face Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida. One of the teams will go up against the Indonesian pair in the final.

Nevertheless, Indonesia still has the opportunity to add two tickets to the final round of the Indonesia Open in the men’s doubles (Marcus Fernaldi Gideon-Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo) and the men’s singles (Jonatan Christie).

World’s top-seeded Gideon and Sukamuljo will face Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty of India, while Christie will face Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medalist Viktor Axelsen of Denmark.

Jakarta government wins awards for social media management

Jakarta The Jakarta provincial government has won three awards in social media management amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We hope to continue to produce social media content that benefits the community,” head of public communication at Jakarta Office of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics, Nuruning Septarida, said here on Saturday.

Jakarta won three awards in the categories of Best Use of Image, Best Use of Video, and Best Account, she informed.

The social media content that won in the Best Use of Image category was the revitalization of Tebet Station and Sneak Peak Station, she said.

Meanwhile, the video content of the Jakarta government appreciating a citizen’s lawsuit against air quality won the award in the video category, she informed.

In addition, the Jakarta government was also deemed to manage its social media account well, which won it the best social media account award, Septarida said.

The three awards were presented at the virtual Government Social Media Summit (GSMS) 2021, held by the state social media analytics agency and supported by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics as well as NoLimit Indonesia on Friday (November 26, 2021).

Septarida said the COVID-19 pandemic has posed a challenge to conveying information to the public.

Limited community mobility during the pandemic made social media one of the main platforms for communicating government policies, she added.

Great public communication through effective social media can be assessed not only from how the public responds, but also how the community is involved in supporting government programs and policies, she explained.

For that reason, the right communication strategy is necessary so that information and messages conveyed through social media are understandable and motivate the public, Septarida highlighted.

In the award assessment process, analytical data was provided by NoLimit Indonesia, a date-based startup company that monitors and analyzes online media.

There were 249 participants whose analytical data were collected for GSMS 2021. They included 34 ministries, 50 institutions/agencies, 34 provincial governments, and 131 state-owned enterprises (SOEs), Septarida said.

The period of data collection was September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021, with data selected based on performance and highest engagement, she added.
