Bangkok: "Pichai" asks for 2 weeks for the Treasury to confirm the draft of the Entertainment Complex Act, returning it to the National Legislative Assembly for consideration by the Cabinet.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, commented on the situation where the Office of the Secretariat of the Cabinet sent a draft of the Entertainment Complex Business Act to the Ministry of Finance for confirmation. He noted that the draft had already been reviewed by the Council of State once. The revisions aim to clarify the objectives and improve public understanding, with public opinion also considered in the process, thus necessitating additional time.
Mr. Pichai emphasized the importance of another review process before confirming the draft bill, as the draft has been altered from its original form. He expressed a desire to incorporate public feedback, estimating this will take approximately two weeks.
Regarding potential challenges with the draft, Mr. Pichai mentioned that the fundamental principles remain largely unchanged. The revisions primarily serve to clarify the definition and scope of an entertainment complex.
It has been reported that the draft was signed by the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and subsequently sent to the Cabinet Secretariat on February 28, 2025.
