Logistics software leader Yojee teams up with HERE Technologies to unlock value in global supply chains

CES 2022 – HERE Technologies, the leading location data and technology platform, and Yojee Limited, a cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) logistics platform that facilitates the flow of freight movements into a single ecosystem, has teamed up to create a unique operations intelligence solution to transform warehouse operations and management for global companies.

The growth of supply chains and e-commerce trends have resulted in the need for more warehouses worldwide. Experts are predicting that the number of warehouses around the world will grow by 20% between 2018 and 2025 to reach about 180,000, more than half of which will be in China, United States, Japan, India, and Germany1. At the same time, warehousing costs are rising, and companies are spending approximately €300 billion (USD 346 billion) a year on warehousing, with operational costs accounting for 85% of that expenditure2.

Combining the expertise of Yojee’s logistics software with HERE’s location intelligence, this joint initiative will uncover and generate crucial data from the warehouse floor. This will enable businesses to make better informed decisions on how they can streamline operations and utilize the maximum capacity of the facility through infrastructure planning, asset tracking, and workforce management. These operational intelligence data points will help to establish a warehouse health pulse system that will measure key metrics based on various location parameters pertaining to workforce productivity, material handling equipment, inventory statuses and more.

Ed Clarke, Managing Director at Yojee said, “We are building an invention that will transform supply chain and logistics visibility and efficiency worldwide. We are digitalizing warehouses where data can be consumed and analyzed via a single smart dashboard remotely anytime. This data intelligence is crucial in improving the overall warehouse productivity and efficiency. I’m confident that together with HERE, this brings more than just return on investment for the global logistics industry in the long term.”

With HERE Asset Tracking, businesses can enjoy improved real-time visibility that tracks the location, status, and condition of their warehouse assets anywhere, anytime. Warehouse Operators are now able to remotely monitor manpower productivity levels within warehouses, and track movements of assets and material handling equipment both outdoors and indoors via already available networks. The HERE Map Making platform also allows businesses to customize and maintain warehouse digital layouts (virtual representations) that will help them improve overall logistics planning and reduce operational costs.

By feeding the real-time and historical data provided by the collaboration into an artificial intelligence (AI) powered data analytics dashboard, businesses will be presented with a central, customizable visualization of its warehouse operations.

Jason Jameson, Senior Vice President and General Manager at HERE Asia Pacific said, “The Asia Pacific logistics sector is showing no signs of slowing down due to digital transformation and an exponential growth in the supply chain and e-commerce industries. Yet the cost for expansion continues to be one of the top barriers for Asia Pacific’s logistics sector as they enter expansion mode3. Through this exciting partnership with Yojee, we look forward to providing businesses with substantial opportunities to unlock major improvements and capture value in global warehousing.”

Holiday makers disregard rules in Dorob National Park

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism has expressed its disappointment in holidaymakers at the coast who failing to adhere to environmental safety and park rules in the Dorob National Park.

Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism Chief Public Relations Officer Romeo Muyunda told the media on Wednesday the ministry collected 480 bags of rubbish in the Dorob National Park after holidaymakers left the area with the festive season wrapping up.

He noted that garbage could be observed everywhere including on beaches, sand dunes and the general surroundings despite the ministry providing dustbins and clear park regulations indicating that littering is not allowed.

“The ministry condemns this type of irresponsible behaviour and encourages that moving forward, travellers and holiday makers should not leave their garbage unattended but rather find ways to dispose of it in a responsible manner,” Muyunda said.

He further stressed that garbage is not only unattractive but can also contaminate land, air and water sources, in particular the ocean, affecting aquatic species on which Namibia’s fishing sector depends.

Muyunda further warned that park visitors were observed launching firecrackers, playing loud music, driving off-road and getting out of their vehicles, which is prohibited and clearly indicated as such on sign boards.

Such behaviour can also affect wildlife wellbeing and can lead to aggressiveness in animals, posing a danger to visitors, he added.

The Dorob National Park is a protected area along the central Namibian coast. It is 1 600 kilometres in length and extends from the Kuiseb Delta, north to the Ugab River, and west from the Atlantic Ocean.

Prosperity-based approach to be prioritized in Operation Nemangkawi

The Indonesian National Police is planning to implement a prosperity-based approach under Operation Nemangkawi in Papua Province in 2022, according to a spokesperson.

To this end, the Nemangkawi Task Force is preparing whatever is necessary for implementing the prosperity-based approach, National Police spokesperson Brig.Gen. Ahmad Ramadhan said.

The task force’s operational period has been extended until January 25, 2022, following the end of its second operational phase on December 31, 2021, he noted in a statement that ANTARA received here Wednesday.

The prosperity-based approach will be adopted by taking into account the outcomes of analysis and evaluation of last year’s Operation Nemangkawi that the National Police jointly conducted, he said.

“We hope no more people will fall victim to violence,” he said, adding that the Nemangkawi Task Force personnel will prioritize preventive and preemptive actions through community service programs.

Operation Nemangkawi was launched in 2019 following the massacre of 31 workers of PT Istaka Karya in Kali Yigi and Kali Aurak in Yigi sub-district, Nduga district, on December 2, 2018.

Papuan separatist terrorists, who were believed to be behind the brutal killings of the Trans Papua construction workers, also killed a soldier, identified as Handoko, and injured two other security personnel, Sugeng and Wahyu, according to reports.

Papua has been witness to a repeated cycle of violence, with armed groups in the districts of Intan Jaya, Nduga, and Puncak targeting civilians and security personnel over the past few years.

Intan Jaya recorded its bloodiest month in September, 2020, with armed groups launching a series of attacks in the area that claimed the lives of two soldiers and two civilians and left two others injured.

The acts of terror have continued in 2021. On January 10, 2021, for instance, an Indonesian soldier died in a gunfight in the Titigi area of Intan Jaya district.

On April 25, 2021, Papuan separatists operating in Beoga ambushed State Intelligence Agency (Papua) chief, I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha, and several security personnel during their visit to Dambet village.

Nugraha died of gunshot wounds sustained in the attack.

Jokowi inaugurates Randugunting Dam in Central Java

Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated operations at Randugunting Dam in Blora district, Central Java province, during a working visit to the province on Wednesday.

He also took a tour of the reservoir in a dragon boat.

Water is key to food security, therefore, the government has built as many dams as possible to provide the resource, he added.

He said he expected the dam to become a great tourism site, which can improve the welfare of the people in the district.

“By saying Bismillahirrohmanirrohim (in the name of Allah Ta’alaa, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful), I inaugurate the Randugunting Dam,” he remarked.
