Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry’s official, Nizam, will ensure the fulfillment of rights of university students that participated in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (Freedom in Learning and Campus), or MBKM, programs.
“I laud all partners, mentors, and lecturers that have collaborated and supervised the students, who are increasing their experience through these programs,” Nizam noted through his written statement here on Monday.
The ministry’s official also expressed gratitude for the university students that had participated in the programs.
“We apologize for any problems and delay in fulfilling the rights of students and partners,” he remarked.
“It should be borne in mind that it is our collective responsibility to ensure that all parties receive their payment, which is their rights,” he affirmed.
Those who have not yet received full payment do not have to harbor concerns, as the disbursal for 2021 activities will be continued until 2022 until everyone receives their payment, he emphasized.
“There will be nobody whose rights are not fulfilled,” Nizam affirmed.
Since October 2021, the ministry and Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) are putting in additional efforts to get in touch with all participants, mentors, and lecturers that had yet to complete their information as a requisite for disbursement.
The MBKM programs, funded by LPDP, allow students, corporation mentors, and lecturers to receive pocket money, living cost, or payment while conducting activities.
This support came from the state budget. To this end, information accountability from participants and disbursement process is very important to be maintained.
Various government programs are implemented, so that students can focus on increasing their experience and gaining new knowledge as well as skills for networking, Nizam explained.
“We received several positive testimonies. We are thankful for the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka participants, who made the most of this opportunity,” he remarked.
“I hope that the valuable experience that they obtained from these programs could truly become a foundation for their future,” he affirmed.
Several MBKM programs were unveiled in 2021 comprising the Certified Internship and Independent Study (MSIB) program, with 12,800 university student participants and Kampus Mengajar (Campus Teaches) program, with 21,700 students.
In addition, 8,200 students participated in the Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM) and 950 students in the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA)
