Ubonrat: The District Chief of Ubonrat, Khon Kaen Province, inspected a school building at Ban Tung Pong School after a summer storm blew the roof off and hit three houses, broke an electric pole, and collapsed the cafeteria ceiling.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ubonrat District Chief of Khon Kaen Province led a team to inspect the school building at Ban Thung Pong School after a summer storm blew the roof off the school building last night before it flew into the air and hit three houses behind the school. The incident also resulted in a broken electric pole and a collapsed cafeteria ceiling. As a response, the district provided initial assistance and sent a letter to the province to declare the area a public disaster zone.

The school building, which is over 48 years old and constructed with half-concrete and half-wood, was fortunate to have no injuries reported due to the incident occurring on a holiday. However, the school had to announce a one-day closure to assess the damage and relocate teaching equipment to another building, ensuring that classes could resume as usual.
