Kuala lumpur: Sihasak, Minister of Foreign Affairs, arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend the 47th ASEAN Ministerial Summit and the four-party discussions on the Thailand-Cambodia issue before signing the Joint Declaration on Peacebuilding.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow arrived on October 23, 2025, at 10:00 PM local time in Malaysia, in preparation for the ASEAN Summit 2025. The summit will feature ministerial meetings preceding the ASEAN Leaders' Meeting scheduled for October 26-28, 2025. Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul is set to lead the Thai delegation and is scheduled to visit Malaysia officially on October 25, 2025.
Mr. Sihasak conducted a preparatory meeting with senior officials, including Ms. Ekksiri Pindaruji, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Pholpong Wangpan, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs. Also present were Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur, and Ms. Maratee Nalita Andamo, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information. The meeting focused on preparing for the summit's content, which will involve discussions at both leaders' and dialogue partner levels.
Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will be involved in a four-party meeting on October 25, 2015, aimed at concluding a peace cooperation agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, along with the United States and Malaysia. This meeting follows the JBC and GBC meetings between Thailand and Cambodia, which resulted in agreements on several issues, including the withdrawal of heavy weapons, demining, suppression of scammers, and border management, proposals initiated by Thailand.
