Royal Thai Police Deputy Commissioner Confirms Cheating in Judicial Examinations by Police Officers

Bangkok: Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police confirms that police officers cheated on judicial examinations, which is a serious disciplinary violation. The case is currently under consideration for criminal charges. Pol. Col. is ready to provide an explanation, but he will not interfere with the relevant agencies.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Korchai Klaiklueng, Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, who is responsible for administrative affairs, addressed the incident involving a police officer, Pol. Col., Deputy Commander of the Provincial Police Region 8. The officer was caught by an administrative judge at the investigation unit using a cheat sheet during the examination for selecting candidates to be appointed as judges of the Administrative Court of First Instance on March 15, 2025. The facts of the case are evident from the video released to the public. The examination committee must now provide additional testimony to the investigation officer at Khlong Luang Police Station, Pathum Thani Province, where the incident occurred.

Pol. Gen. Korchai acknowledged the presence of both good and bad elements in every organization. He emphasized that when wrongdoing is identified, disciplinary actions must be enforced. The Royal Thai Police is committed to transparency and integrity as essential components of the justice process. He stated that all evidence presented indicates that Pol. Col. is guilty of disciplinary offenses, and his superiors need to investigate and forward the findings to the Royal Thai Police Office for disciplinary action. The criminal case will be determined by the investigation officers at Khlong Luang Police Station, and it's still uncertain if Section 157 has been violated.

The implicated Pol. Col. mentioned that he is preparing necessary documents and is willing to explain the situation. He assured that he would not interfere with the relevant agencies and would consult with his superiors to ensure accurate communication without causing misunderstandings.

The Pol. Col. also expressed that it is up to the relevant agencies to handle whether the incident would tarnish the image of police officers.
