Report Chinese National Secretly Photographed at Immigration Bureau, Hoping to Create Content Claiming to Be Free Visa

Suvarnabhumi: Airport Immigration is serious! Reported Chinese national secretly taking pictures of immigration officers, hoping to create content claiming to be free visa entry. From the case of a clip that was released on social media showing a Chinese person filming an immigration officer at the airport, with the clip edited and spoken in Chinese, along with Thai text that said, "Working in Thailand without a visa requires a relationship with the Immigration Bureau."

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Chengron Rimphidi, Commander of Immigration Bureau Division 2, revealed that he had seen the clip since last week and ordered Pol. Col. Naowarat Chalermsri, Superintendent of the Immigration Division, Suvarnabhumi Airport Immigration Checkpoint, to investigate the facts. Pol. Col. Naowarat reported that the clip was taken at the entrance to the Suvarnabhumi Immigration Hall. The immigration officer who was filmed was Pol. Lt. Ekkanarin, Deputy Chief of the Immigration Division, Suvarnabhumi Airport Immigration Checkpoint. Pol. Lt. Ekkanarin remembered that a Chinese tourist had come to ask him to help fill in the online entry form or TDAC, claiming that he could not fill it in himself because he did not understand it. So he helped fill it in for him. Later, the Chinese tourist asked for help to check his passport quickly because he had taken a long time to fill in the form and had to travel urgently. So he helped take him to the passport control counter for screening a s usual. After that, he went back to helping other foreigners and did not pay any more attention to the Chinese man. He insisted that he helped the Chinese man with good intentions because he saw him as a tourist. However, he did not think that he would take the opportunity while he was helping him to secretly film him from behind and edit it, along with falsely claiming his identity, which caused damage, as seen in the clip.

Pol. Col. Chengron explained that recently, we have rejected foreigners who are using the visa-free scheme and disguising themselves as tourists. From January to May 2025, approximately 8,193 foreigners have been rejected from entering the country. As a result, foreigners, especially Chinese, who are agents who facilitate foreigners' business activities, have tried to advertise and invite others to believe that they can contact government agencies or the Immigration Bureau to bring Chinese people into the country without being deported, which is a distortion of information. Meanwhile, some people have taken the opportunity to do challenges to get through Immigration as content by secretly filming the work area and officers and then adding text or voiceovers to the content to generate views.

However, Pol. Lt. Col. Ekanarin filed a complaint with the investigation officer at Suvarnabhumi Police Station to track down the Chinese man and prosecute him for defamation by advertising. He will also take legal action according to immigration law to revoke his visa and put him on the prohibited person list.
