Prime Minister Presides Over Royal Thai Air Force’s 88th Anniversary Celebration

Bangkok: The Prime Minister presided over the 88th anniversary of the Royal Thai Air Force, highlighting the importance of the Air Force officers in the development of the country, ensuring the well-being of the Thai people, and protecting the nation's core institutions.

According to Thai News Agency, the event took place at the Ronnaphakat Building, Navamindradhiraj Air Force Academy, in the Sai Mai District of Bangkok. Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, along with her spouse Mr. Pitak Suksawat, delivered a speech at the Air Force Day celebration of 2025. The event was attended by notable figures including Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, his spouse, General Nattapol Nakphanit, Deputy Minister of Defense, as well as military and police commanders, former Royal Thai Air Force commanders, and distinguished guests from both domestic and international circles.

During the ceremony, Air Chief Marshal Amorn Naewmali, a former Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force, led a toast in honor of His Majesty the King, Her Majesty the Queen, and the Royal Family, wishing for their longevity. Following this, Air Chief Marshal Panpakdee Pattanakul, the current Commander-in-Chief, addressed the audience, emphasizing the significance of April 9 as a day for Air Force personnel to honor the legacy of Field Marshal Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath and other air force pioneers.

The Royal Thai Air Force, over the past 88 years, has made significant strides in strengthening its capabilities to align with national security strategies and governmental policies. It aims to become a leading air force in the region, participating in both domestic and international missions, particularly in emergencies and disaster relief. The Air Force's involvement in humanitarian assistance abroad showcases its readiness and ability to collaborate with allied nations, fostering regional security and defense industry development. The core mission remains "Sovereignty over the skies through strong cooperation," ensuring the safety of Thai airspace and land.

In his speech, the Prime Minister praised the Air Force personnel for their dedication and effectiveness in advancing the Air Force's mission. He stressed the army's role in national development and its responsibility to support the well-being of Thai citizens. Extending wishes for Songkran Day, the Prime Minister expressed hope for happiness, prosperity, and good health for all Air Force personnel and their families, encouraging them to spend the holiday joyfully with their loved ones.

Concluding the event, the Prime Minister invited guests to join a toast for the Air Force's continued success, accompanied by the orchestra's rendition of the Maha Rak song. The Prime Minister and his spouse also enjoyed a multimedia performance before departing.
