Prime Minister Paethongtarn Leads Investigation into Auditor General Building Collapse

Bangkok: The Prime Minister sat at the head of the table to discuss the progress of the Office of the Auditor General building collapse, stressing close investigation. According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra chaired a meeting to follow up on the investigation into the collapse of the new Office of the Auditor General building. Attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Minister and Minister of the Interior Supamas Issapadi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Pongnara Yenying, and Director-General of the Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning Thanet Weerasiri. Also present were Chairman of the Council of Engineers and Advisor to the Committee Anek Sirinichkorn, a representative of the Engineering Institute of Thailand, and Captain Nat Limsuwan, representing the Council of Engineers. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the collective efforts to address the issue. He emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation following the building collapse last week. A time frame of approximately seven days was set to discuss and report on the findings. The Prime Minister stated that he had visited the site multiple times to support the officers involved. He insisted on a comprehensive investigation to provide clear answers, not only for the country but also for the international community, on how the incident occurred. The Prime Minister urged the use of legal processes where necessary and called for full cooperation from all parties involved, assuring his complete support for every report and measure undertaken to resolve the situation.
