Bangkok: The Prime Minister abstained from giving a statement after a cabinet meeting for only 1 hour, explaining that he would not appoint a Defense Minister, as he already had 'Big Lek' and was working very well. Border work was not interrupted.
According to Thai News Agency, after the cabinet meeting for only 1 hour, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, did not give an interview to the media as she usually does. Reporters therefore tried to ask about the case of not appointing a person to the position of Minister of Defense, but the Prime Minister did not answer the question.
The reporter then asked further whether the failure to appoint a defense minister would cause problems and disrupt border work. The Prime Minister confirmed that there would be no disruptions, as there was already a deputy defense minister working and he was doing a very good job.
As for the possibility of the position being vacant to wait for General Chalermpol Srisawat, the former commander-in-chief of the armed forces, who will have to wait until his two-year term ends after serving as a senator on September 30, the Prime Minister said he did not know yet. We will have to wait and see. However, the deputy defense minister has a lot of work on his plate.
The reporter then asked whether he trusts General Nattapol Nakphanit or not, to which the Prime Minister did not answer, similar to the question of whether not appointing a defense minister would create ripples in the armed forces or not.
However, since the cabinet meeting today, the Prime Minister did not give an interview after the meeting was over, he went down from the command building to the Thai Khu Fah building immediately, causing chaos during the interview with the Prime Minister, causing a photographer to fall down. The Prime Minister then turned to ask how the photographer was, and then walked up to the Thai Khu Fah building.
