Bangkok: Phumtham Vejjayachai, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Thailand, has publicly stated that he has not listened to, nor is interested in, the recent live broadcast by Samdech Hun Sen, the President of the Cambodian Senate. Phumtham emphasized the importance of not letting Hun Sen's comments stir tensions within Thailand, describing the situation as an information and psychological war aimed at creating chaos. According to Thai News Agency, Phumtham clarified that he has not listened to the audio clip of Hun Sen due to the unclear and inconsistent nature of the statements within it. He noted that Hun Sen's remarks, such as those concerning border closures, lacked sincerity and clarity. Phumtham expressed his disinterest in the content, as it seemed to include claims of secret audio clips that allegedly affect Thailand, which he dismissed as irrelevant to his government. Phumtham argued that Hun Sen's actions are part of an information warfare campaign designed to undermine the cred ibility of the Thai government. He warned that destabilizing the Thai government would ultimately benefit Hun Sen, especially concerning land and border issues. Phumtham urged Thai citizens to stand by their principles and assured that any legal issues arising from Hun Sen's actions would be addressed according to the law. He reiterated his belief that Hun Sen's tactics are meant to instigate suspicion and chaos within Thailand. When questioned about potential legal actions, Phumtham highlighted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies are closely monitoring the situation. Any actions by Hun Sen that contravene international law or impact Thailand will be met with appropriate legal measures. Addressing concerns about individual impacts, particularly relating to Prime Minister or former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, Phumtham advised against speculation and manipulation. He expressed his reluctance to continue answering questions on the matter, indicating a desire to move past the issue.
