Prime Minister Observes Rehearsal of Incident Response Plan in Bangkok

Bangkok: The Prime Minister observed the rehearsal of the incident response plan designed to counter threats and sabotage, expressing gratitude towards the officers involved for their hard training and emphasizing the country's security.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, conducted an inspection of the incident response plan training titled 'Response to threats to the back area' at the MRT Orange Line Eastern Station OR14, located in the Huai Khwang District of Bangkok. The training session was attended by key figures including Mr. Witthaya Phanmongkol, Deputy Governor and Acting Governor of MRTA, General Paiboon Voravanpreecha, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, Lieutenant General Amrit Boonsua, Commander of the 1st Army Region, Pol. Lt. Gen. Sayam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, and Lieutenant General Sumet Promtrus, Commander of the International Counter-Terrorism Operations Center.

During the visit, the Prime Minister was briefed on the situation and observed various training stations, including those focused on crowd control, sabotage (fire), WWD and shooting, as well as hostage-taking and special operations unit exercises aimed at resolving crises.

In her closing speech, the Prime Minister expressed her satisfaction with the training, stating that although such incidents are infrequent, they often result in significant damage. She emphasized the importance of being prepared and highlighted that the training provided a sense of security and confidence for the people, ensuring that if a crisis arises, the security agencies are well-prepared with precise steps to follow. The Prime Minister applauded the collaboration between government agencies and international partners in enhancing skills and strengthening the country's security framework.

The Prime Minister also shared a light-hearted moment regarding the K-9 dogs involved in the training, noting the handlers' role in instructing the dogs when to stop, contrasting it with ordinary pets that might be startled by gunfire. She concluded her address by expressing heartfelt appreciation and encouragement to all participants, recognizing their efforts in reinforcing national security.
