Bangkok: The Pheu Thai Party meeting voted to elect Chulaphan Amornvivat as the new party leader and appointed Prasert Chantarawongthong as the party secretary-general. Meanwhile, Chulaphan announced his readiness to lead the party to victory, believing that the 10 million votes of the people still support him.
According to Thai News Agency, the Pheu Thai Party's extraordinary annual general meeting voted to elect Chulaphan Amornvivat as the new party leader. The party received 354 votes from 369 eligible voters, with 15 abstaining. Prasert Chantharawongthong was chosen as party secretary, with 27 other party executives and 17 members of the Pheu Thai Party's candidate selection committee.
After the results were announced, Paethongtarn Shinawatra presented a bouquet of flowers to Chulaphan and Prasert, and the new party executive committee then took the stage to take a photo together. Chulaphan thanked the meeting for their confidence, stating that he is proud to have the opportunity to assume the role of party leader. He will remain committed to the principle that the people are his heart.
The party's strategy is ready for a complete overhaul. First, communication with the public must be fast and timely. Regarding candidates, the selection process must be of high quality and meet the needs of the people. Policies must address public needs. He believes that there are still tens of millions of people who will be the driving force behind the Pheu Thai Party's path to electoral victory and government.
