Lahore: Lahore, the capital of Pakistan's Punjab province and second-largest city, was blanketed in a toxic smog that was unhealthy on Friday.
According to Thai News Agency, this suffocating pollution has become a source of deep frustration for Lahore residents, who have expressed their concerns and taken the steps they are being forced to take to survive. One resident said, "Wearing a mask is extremely important."
While others pointed to the source of pollution in the area and expressed frustration at the lack of action from those involved, another resident said the haze covering the area was largely due to people's own actions, including crop burning, emissions from brick kilns and vehicle fumes.
Villagers expressed their regret at the overall failure to address the issue, pointing out that the most vulnerable groups are being hit the hardest, particularly children and the elderly.
