Perpetrator Arrested After Breaking Into Woman’s Bedroom in Chonburi

Chonburi: A pervert was apprehended after breaking into a woman's bedroom and attempting to rape her. The incident occurred when the victim was home alone, but she managed to evade the attack by hiding in the bathroom until help arrived. The perpetrator, identified as Mr. Thanawat, was found asleep on the victim's bed when Phan Thong Police Station officers arrived at the scene.

According to Thai News Agency, the arrest took place in a house located in Map Pong Subdistrict, Phan Thong District, Chonburi Province. Mr. Thanawat, aged 35, appeared disoriented and claimed he could not recall the events, insisting he did nothing wrong. A gray motorcycle with a Chonburi license plate was discovered parked approximately 30 meters from the house, suggesting it belonged to the suspect.

The police detained Mr. Thanawat from the second floor of the residence just as the victim's husband returned from work. In a fit of anger, the husband struck the victim twice before police and rescue workers intervened to provide assistance.

The victim, still in shock, explained that the perpetrator was her sister's former boyfriend, whom she had introduced to the household before he disappeared. On the night of the incident, the victim was alone, as her husband was at work and her sister was absent. Around 4 a.m., Mr. Thanawat entered the house and knocked on her bedroom door. Believing it was a familiar person, she opened the door, leading to Mr. Thanawat's intrusion and attempted assault. She managed to hide in the bathroom and, after ensuring the coast was clear, escaped to seek help from neighbors and contact the authorities.
