Bangkok: Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat, the Minister of Education and leader of the Klatham Party, has confirmed that the Klatham Party is considering a candidate for the role of the 2nd Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. This decision comes following the resignation of Mr. Paradorn Prisananantakul, an MP from Ang Thong belonging to the Bhumjaithai Party. However, Mrs. Narumon emphasized the importance of first engaging in discussions with coalition parties.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives and party registrar, stated that the nomination for the position is not a part of the party's proportional quota. Instead, it would require deliberations amongst the coalition partners.
Mrs. Narumon admitted that there are individuals interested in the nomination. However, she insists on consulting with coalition parties before finalizing any decision.
Regarding her official duties, Mrs. Narumon announced that she will commence her role at the Ministry of Education on July 8 at 8:00 a.m. She has already inspected her office in preparation for her new responsibilities.
The choice to start at the Ministry of Education on July 8 allows the two Deputy Ministers of Education the opportunity to familiarize themselves with their offices ahead of time. Additionally, a meeting is scheduled on this day to allocate tasks among the two Deputy Ministers.
