Mysterious Human Skeleton Discovered Beneath Water Hyacinth in Chaiyaphum Province

Chaiyaphum: A mysterious human skeleton was discovered under water hyacinth in a public pond in Chaiyaphum Province. Officials have found no evidence on the body, and it is estimated that the individual has been deceased for at least one month.

According to Thai News Agency, officials inspected the public pond in Ban Nong Ped, Tambon Tha Yai, Amphoe Nong Bua Daeng, Chaiyaphum Province after receiving a report of a deceased person, reduced to a skeleton, found among water hyacinth and various weeds. Alongside the remains, a pile of yellow clothes with English letters and the number 8 was discovered, believed to belong to the deceased. The doctor on duty at Nong Bua Daeng Hospital examined the body, which had been reduced to a skeleton, but was unable to determine the gender, age, or cause of death. The identity and origin of the individual remain unknown, with estimates suggesting the death occurred at least a month ago.

Villagers residing near the incident site were questioned, but no missing persons had been reported in the vicinity over the past two months. Consequently, officials transported the skeleton to Nong Bua Daeng Hospital for safekeeping, pending transfer to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for identity verification. Authorities have urged anyone with a missing relative or acquaintance in the past 1-2 months to contact Nong Bua Daeng Hospital in Nong Bua Daeng District, Chaiyaphum Province, to review the skeleton and the remaining clothing.
