Bangkok: The Ministry of Culture is organizing an event titled 'Songkran at My Home, Colorful Thai Style, Happiness Across the World', aiming to invite Thai people nationwide to participate in the traditional Songkran Festival. This initiative seeks to enhance Thailand's cultural identity and charm as a preferred destination for tourists globally.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Culture, through its Department of Cultural Promotion, has launched a campaign under the theme 'Songkran at My Home, Colorful Thai Style, Happiness Across the World'. This campaign highlights Thai traditions and cultural identity to position Thailand as an attractive destination for international tourists. The Ministry is focusing on four key dimensions-cultural, economic, social, and environmental-to sustain and promote the Songkran tradition.
The event is set to take place in 17 provinces and central Bangkok. Additionally, five cities known for their unique cultural identities will host special events. These include the Traditional Festival of Pa Weni in Chiang Mai from April 12-16, the Isan Lifestyle Festival in Khon Kaen from April 8-15, the Chonburi Identity Lifestyle Event in Pattaya from April 17-19, and the Samut Prakan Provincial Fair focusing on Mon Community Lifestyle from April 25-27. The Maha Sungkran Festival, featuring the unique parade of Nang Dan Muang Buk, will conclude in Nakhon Si Thammarat tomorrow.
