MCOT Hosts Alms-Giving Ceremony to Honor Royal Coronation

Bangkok: MCOT organized an alms-giving ceremony on the occasion of the royal coronation ceremony. MCOT organized a merit-making ceremony to offer alms to monks to honor His Majesty the King on the occasion of the royal ceremony. Every monarch will commemorate the royal deeds of the ancestors on various occasions, such as the days when their reigns coincide or the days when their ages become equal for the first time. It is often called 'Som Mongkol', which means 'equal.' January 14, 2025, is a special auspicious day when His Majesty the King will be the same age as King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great.
