‘Maris’ Visits Thai Workers in Israel, Praising Them as Valuable Farmers

Tel Aviv: "Maris" visited Thai workers in Israel, acknowledging their value as farmers and urging them to care for one another like family, especially in the context of Thai hostages, while advising caution despite improved conditions. Mr. Maris Sengiampong, Minister of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by Mr. Rasme Chaleechan, Assistant Minister to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, General Songwit Noonpakdee, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and Ambassador Pannpa Chandrarom, visited Thai workers at the Moshav Bnei Atarot agricultural estate in Tel Aviv, Israel.

According to Thai News Agency, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his intent to connect with the Thai workers, who he referred to as farmers due to their honorable work that brings value to their country. He acknowledged the respect and admiration from Israel towards Thai workers and emphasized the importance of vigilance and unity among them, despite the recent ceasefire and improved situation.

He stressed the significance of family and unity, urging the workers to heed embassy warnings and take care of each other as their families cannot be present. The Minister noted that five hostages were being cared for, with three living together and two staying with friends, some of whom had not seen their families in seven years.

Mr. Maris also engaged with the farm owner, expressing gratitude for the professionalism and agricultural skills of Thai workers. The employer conveyed appreciation to the Thai government, noting that the support for farmers has yielded mutual benefits. He emphasized the importance of Thai-Israeli agricultural cooperation and the positive impact on both parties.

The Minister highlighted that over 38,000 Thai workers have returned to work in Israel, an increase from the original 30,000. He reiterated the importance of adhering to safety measures and remaining cautious. The employer expressed a desire to repay Thailand by using his knowledge and skills to aid in the development of Thailand's agriculture.
