Bangkok: The Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior, held the Local Award 2025 ceremony to honor high potential local areas, create development models, and sustainably improve the quality of life of citizens.
According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Interior organized the event on October 24, 2025, at the Vayuphak Convention Center, Government Complex, Chaeng Watthana. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Songsak Thongsri, Deputy Minister of Interior, alongside Mr. Sakda Wichiensilp, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Mr. Santithorn Yimlamai, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, who is the Head of the Community Development and Local Administration Promotion Mission Group.
Mr. Jumpot Wannachatsiri, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Phopchanok Chalanukroh, Director General of the Department of Local Administration, presented awards to 275 provinces and local administrative organizations nationwide. The awards covered a range of categories including schools, child development centers, public health, the environment, the promotion of religion, arts, culture, and local wisdom. Other categories included community tourism and local economic development, disaster prevention and mitigation, development and promotion of the quality of life of the elderly, promotion of public participation, public assistance management, electronic services, and clean drinking water services.
Mr. Songsak Thongsri expressed his congratulations to the awardees, highlighting that their recognition is a testament to their dedication and collaboration with local communities, adhering to principles of good governance. He assured that the government and the Ministry of Interior will continue to support and strengthen local communities.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Phobchanok Chalanukroh noted that the Local Award, now in its second year, serves as a recognition of the performance of local administrative organizations. Through Local Performance Assessment and High Potentiated Local Assessment, the awards reflect both the work processes and outcomes of these organizations. The objective is to motivate and serve as development models that can be replicated across other localities.
The 2025 Local Award Ceremony not only honors local government organizations but also emphasizes the importance of their role in enhancing the quality of life for citizens. The 275 awards serve as a catalyst for people-centered national development, underscoring the Ministry of Interior's commitment to national strengthening and sustainability.
