Lawyer Decha Confirms Female Opponent of ‘Stamp’ Satisfied with Apology, Warns Against Further Interviews

Bangkok: Lawyer Decha Kittiwittayanan has confirmed that the female opponent of 'Stamp' is satisfied with the apology posted on social media and does not intend to pursue further legal action. However, any future interviews causing damage could prompt legal proceedings.

According to Thai News Agency, the female opponent and her family have expressed satisfaction with the acknowledgment of guilt and public apology made by 'Stamp' on Facebook. They have decided to drop all matters, except for the lese majeste case under Section 112, which is beyond their control. This case has been referred to the Royal Thai Army and the Ministry of Defense for consideration. The opponent's family emphasized that their actions were not intended as a threat but as a means to uphold the institution, with evidence provided in the form of chat conversations.

Four legal cases were initially brought against 'Stamp,' including three defamation cases and a tort case. The defamation cases have been withdrawn from the Nonthaburi Provincial Court, Dusit District Court, and Civil Court, where 2 million baht in damages was sought. The tort case at the Central Juvenile and Family Court resulted in an agreement to pay 1 million baht in compensation, following mediation.

Despite the resolution, Lawyer Decha warned that any further damaging statements to the media could result in legal action. He advised 'Stamp' to remain silent, noting that personal matters should be addressed privately. Concerns about the legality of posting the verdict on social media were dismissed by Lawyer Decha, who clarified that it is not a crime since the post was made by the litigant's girlfriend, acting in a representative capacity to explain the situation.
