Bangkok: "Kham" resigns from the position of deputy government spokesperson after the Bhumjaithai Party withdraws.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Karom Polpornklang, former deputy government spokesman, visited Government House to pay homage to its sacred objects after submitting his resignation. This decision followed the Bhumjaithai Party's withdrawal from the coalition government. Mr. Karom expressed his honor at having served in the position, highlighting the competence and expertise of civil servants at Government House. He emphasized that if both politicians and political leaders possess capability, the country will progress.
Mr. Karom supported the Bhumjaithai Party's withdrawal, asserting that political ambitions should not overshadow national honor and dignity. He acknowledged the potential sensitivity surrounding the country's future in light of recent events. Reflecting on the past 2-3 years, he noted that public confidence had been impacted, particularly after hearing an audio clip of the Prime Minister. While expressing sympathy for the Prime Minister, Mr. Karom hesitated to interpret the clip, suggesting that legal considerations and the Prime Minister's intent must be examined.
Mr. Karom speculated that the audio clip could signal upcoming political shifts, stating his personal concerns about the nation's future. He pointed out that the clip's release adds to the existing security issues, exacerbating the country's challenges. Despite these overlapping problems, he voiced his support for the government.
Additionally, Mr. Karom mentioned that Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, had not yet convened a meeting to discuss the party's future direction. He clarified that his comments were personal and that the party's political direction rests with its leader.
