Bangkok: "Jakrapop" has publicly apologized to "Jirayu" over a misunderstanding regarding the government spokesman position, stating he was under the impression that the arrangement was finalized.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Jakrapob Penkair, the former Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, expressed his regrets through a Facebook post directed at Mr. Jirayu Huangtrakul, the current government spokesman. Jakrapob clarified that he was approached to become the government spokesperson and accepted the offer, believing it was a done deal. He emphasized that his intention was not to interfere with Jirayu's current role.
In his Facebook message, Jakrapob explained that he was approached by someone familiar with his previous higher-level position, who requested his assistance. He accepted the offer, thinking the decision had already been made internally. Jakrapob highlighted the urgency of political matters and the need for immediate action due to the high level of conflict and misunderstandings in the country. He addressed the media's inquiries about his potential new role, although he was unsure how they learned about it.
Jakrapob took responsibility for the miscommunication, stating that his team mistakenly used the term "potential spokesperson" in a Facebook post, thinking it was appropriate to announce the news. He acknowledged that, as the account owner, he must apologize for the error.
Moving forward, Jakrapob stated that the responsibility to assign the spokesperson role lies with the Cabinet. He expressed his commitment to working independently and emphasized the importance of effective communication to help the country's citizens navigate the rapidly changing global and domestic landscape. Jakrapob concluded by urging not to waste time on internal conflicts, likening the nation's challenges to navigating a ship through stormy and rocky waters.
