Interior Minister Announces Unified Effort Between Governors and Provincial Leaders

Buriram: Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has announced a significant shift in the collaboration between provincial governors and provincial administrative organization presidents across the nation. The aim is to unify efforts in driving policies into practice swiftly and efficiently.

According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul emphasized the importance of this integration. He highlighted that the president of the Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) is an elected official representing the people, while the governor serves as a government representative managing the province. Anutin stressed that a unified effort between these two roles, with shared understanding and goals, would greatly benefit the country and the populace by creating a strong, positive force for development.

Anutin noted the urgency of this collaboration due to the recent certification of the election of provincial administrative organization presidents. He pointed out that the joint seminar held was a vital step in aligning the newly certified leaders with provincial governors to better serve the public.

When asked about the choice of Buriram Province for this initiative, Anutin explained that Buriram has evolved from a transit city into a major urban center. He suggested that Buriram could serve as a model for urban development for other provinces, which could then adapt and incorporate their unique identities into future growth strategies. The transformation of Buriram serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that significant progress is achievable.

In response to inquiries about the future linkage of local governments and the central government, Anutin confirmed that closer collaboration is anticipated. He stated that since both governors and PAO presidents fall under the Ministry of Interior's supervision, it is crucial for the Minister of Interior and ministry executives to ensure these parties work in unison to implement policies promptly.
