Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has expanded its ESG DNA project into its second year, building sustainability knowledge and skills for 190,000 employees.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Soraphol Tulayasathien, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Capital Market Sustainability Development at the Stock Exchange of Thailand, stated that the ESG DNA project is an e-Learning platform developed to enhance ESG understanding among employees at all levels. Now in its second year, the project has created a major sustainability learning phenomenon in Thailand for listed companies, government agencies, the private sector, entrepreneurs, and business partners. To date, 402 organizations have participated, encompassing 189,782 employees. In 2025 alone, 127 organizations were able to encourage over 70% of their total employees to attend and pass the course, exceeding the 60 organizations in 2024 (a total of 187 organizations in both years). This project represents the Stock Exchange of Thailand's commitment to promoting business operations with consideration for the environment, society, and governance (ESG).
"ESG is no longer just a passing trend. It's becoming a key 'DNA' within Thai capital market organizations. Employees at all levels are aware and eager to learn and apply it in their real-world work," said Mr. Soraphol.
A key factor influencing many organizations to participate in the ESG DNA project is the design of over 30 e-Learning courses, featuring appropriate ESG content and meeting the diverse needs of employees at all levels. This enables operational staff to understand and access all aspects of ESG, from greenhouse gas management to responsible supply chain construction, and ESG strategy formulation linked to long-term organizational goals. Participants can learn free of charge, and a real-time learning tracking and measurement system enables organizations to systematically evaluate results. Importantly, the project does not stop within the organization; it also expands to partner companies, government agencies, and educational institutions, enabling the drive for sustainability to reach a wider audience. This makes the ESG DNA project a catalyst for the transformation of Thai organizations towards sustainable business practices, creating tangible ripples at the industrial and capital market levels.
Since the inception of the ESG DNA project in August 2023, 402 organizations have participated in the project, including 251 listed companies on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), 61 listed companies on the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI), 80 limited companies, 5 securities companies and asset management companies, as well as 5 government organizations and educational institutions. All participating organizations have achieved a total cost savings of over 168 million baht.
