Bangkok: The National Police Chief has disclosed that the disciplinary investigation into 'Big Joke' has now progressed to the Disciplinary Division, expressing confidence that it will be concluded within the established framework.
According to Thai News Agency, 'Big Tai' has confirmed that the results of the disciplinary investigation concerning 'Big Joke' have been handed over to the Disciplinary Division, which is currently reviewing the findings. The next step involves sending the results to the national police chief within 30 days. Should 'Big Joke' be found guilty, the outcomes could include either dismissal or removal from office.
Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panphet, the National Police Chief, stated that he has yet to receive the official report on the serious disciplinary investigation involving Pol. Gen. Surachet Hakpal, the former Deputy National Police Chief. Despite this, he assured that the investigation would be completed within the designated time frame. Once finalized, the investigation committee will forward the results to the Disciplinary Division, which will then submit them to the Penalty Screening Committee. This committee, which includes the Deputy National Police Chief and the National Police Inspector General, will review the findings before passing them to the National Police Chief for a final decision within 30 days. The potential penalties include dismissal, which entails loss of welfare and other civil servant rights, or removal, which retains some welfare and rights.
Furthermore, the National Police Inspector General mentioned that if the findings favor Pol. Gen. Surachet, the investigation committee will directly submit the results to the Disciplinary Division. Subsequently, these will be forwarded to the National Police Commissioner for a decision, bypassing the Penalty Screening Committee, within a 30-day period.
