Mae Sot: Mr. Liu Zhongyi, Assistant Minister of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, flew to Mae Sot District, Tak Province, to prepare to cross the border to meet the Minister of the Interior of Myanmar to welcome Chinese people back to China.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Liu Zhongyi, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Security and Public Affairs of the People's Republic of China, traveled by plane from Don Mueang Airport, flight DD 190, arriving at Mae Sot International Airport at 10.50 a.m.
Upon arrival at Mae Sot International Airport, Pol. Col. Plearn Klinpayom, Deputy Commander of Immigration Bureau 3, acting as the Superintendent of Immigration Bureau, Tak Province, welcomed the delegation. They then traveled to the 2nd Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Tambon Tha Sai Suat, Amphoe Mae Sot, Tak Province, to inspect the location where Chinese citizens will be accepted from Myawaddy, Myanmar. Later, the group proceeded across the bridge to Myawaddy to examine the site where Chinese citizens will be sent back to Thailand as well.
This afternoon, it was reported that Mr. Liu will travel to the 1st Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge to head to Myawaddy Province, Myanmar. There, he is scheduled to meet with the Myanmar Minister of Home Affairs to facilitate the return of the Chinese citizens.
