Bangkok: "Opposition parties" have united, welcoming the newcomer "Bhumjaithai" with open arms. Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, MP for the party list and leader of the Prachachon Party, as the leader of the opposition in the House of Representatives, led the first meeting of core leaders from the opposition. The aim was to discuss the direction and potential collaborations following the new parliamentary session.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting saw participation from leaders of various parties, including Mr. Natthaphong and Mr. Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn from the Prachachon Party, Mr. Rangsiman Rome, Mr. Pakornwut Udompipatsakul, Mr. Picharn Chaowapatanawong, and Mr. Panus Wacharasindhu. Representing the Bhumjaithai Party were Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Mr. Phradon Prisananantakul, Mr. Krawee Prisananantakul, and Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai. The Palang Pracharath Party was represented by Mr. Chaimongkol Chairob and Mr. Chakaj Pattanakitwibun. The Thai Sang Thai Party's representatives included Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan and Mr. Chatchawan Paetthai, while Mr. Kanwi Sipsang represented the Tham Party.
Mr. Nattapong emphasized the importance of finding common ground to drive forward without interfering in the distinct stances of each party. The meeting aimed to identify areas where the opposition could collaborate amidst the ongoing national crisis.
Mr. Anutin expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, stating his commitment to fulfilling the Bhumjaithai Party's role as an opposition member to thoroughly oversee government activities. He assured that the party would work closely with other opposition parties.
Mr. Chakaj highlighted the Palang Pracharath Party's willingness to cooperate with the opposition, noting past successful collaborations in no-confidence debates and other matters. He expressed confidence in continuing on the same path.
Khunying Sudarat of the Thai Sang Thai Party acknowledged the significance of the opposition amid the country's crisis, reaffirming her commitment to being a constructive force for the nation's benefit. She welcomed the Bhumjaithai Party's involvement in strengthening their collective efforts.
Mr. Kanwee from the Fair Party reiterated their dedication to their opposition role, emphasizing their commitment to monitoring government actions closely and staying true to their ideology. He welcomed the Bhumjaithai Party members to their collaborative efforts.
