Bangkok: Cabinet approves 150 million baht central budget to carry out the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025 project. Mr. Anan Kaewkamnerd, Director of the Budget Bureau, revealed that the Cabinet meeting resolved to approve the consideration of the annual budget for fiscal year 2025, the central budget, the reserve fund for emergency or necessary cases, to carry out the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025 project as proposed by the Ministry of Tourism, with a budget of 150 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, this budget aims to enhance the Songkran tradition, making it grander than ever with the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025. Scheduled to be held from April 11-15 at Sanam Luang, the event will feature eight highlighted carnival parades, promising excitement and fun for participants. Additionally, the festival will extend beyond the main event with Yen Tua La, Maha Songkran celebrations in five regions nationwide in May.
Participants can enjoy a variety of food, music, sports, and traditional events throughout the month. Notable events include the Bun Bang Fai Rocket Festival in Yasothon Province and the Nora Rong Kru Festival in Phatthalung Province. Food enthusiasts can look forward to the Amazing Thailand Grand Taste in Chonburi Province and the Fruit and Good Things Festival in Rayong Province. Meanwhile, music lovers can attend the Music and Mutelu Festival in Nakhon Phanom Province. Sports enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in the Bangsaen 10 Running Event in Chonburi Province, the Amazean Jungle Thailand by UTMB 2025 in Yala Province, the Samui Regatta in Surat Thani Province, and the Thailand Super Series 2025 in Buriram Province.
