Berlin: The Prime Minister has assured that foreign countries possess complete information regarding the Uyghur issue, emphasizing adherence to human rights principles. She plans to leverage her attendance at ITB Berlin 2025 in Germany, scheduled from March 3-8, to rejuvenate the tourism sector.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, addressed the media before departing for the ITB Berlin 2025 event. She highlighted the importance of communicating the safety of tourists, especially in light of past advisories from various countries concerning the return of Uighurs to China. The Prime Minister asserted the country's commitment to following human rights standards and urged the media to assist in conveying this message. She mentioned that the Chinese government is open to scrutiny on the matter.
The Prime Minister further elaborated that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, had already provided clear explanations on the issue. She reassured that foreign countries have received the necessary information and reiterated that there is no cause for concern.
Focusing on the primary objective of her trip, the Prime Minister confirmed that the emphasis would be on tourism. She expressed her intention to reinforce confidence in the country's tourism sector during her participation in the event.
