Bangkok: "Big Pom" reserves the government's Kathin to question the Alpine issue, leading the MPs to the parliament himself, waiting to hear if it will affect the government or not. General Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, addressed the no-confidence motion against the government as an opposition party, stating, "We can debate. There are many issues to debate."
According to Thai News Agency, when questioned about a story involving former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on the 14th floor, General Prawit mentioned the Alpine story. Regarding whether this round of debate would destabilize the government, General Prawit simply remarked, "Let's wait and see. Let's wait and listen."
When asked about his perspective on the current problems of the coalition government, General Prawit chose not to respond and promptly got into his car, although he did roll down the window to smile and greet Mr. Santi Promphat, the deputy party leader who was present to see him off.
Mr. Paiboon Nititawan, secretary-general of the Palang Pracharath Party, stated that General Prawit will personally lead the Palang Pracharath Party MPs in attending the parliament meeting to debate the no-confidence motion against the government on the first day. General Prawit will set the direction and issues for the debate but will not participate as a debater. The party plans to hold a meeting next week to summarize the debaters.
