Coalition Government Dinner in Bangkok Highlights Prime Minister’s Stance on Payment Issue

Bangkok: The coalition government dinner party at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok witnessed a gathering of several political parties, including the Pheu Thai Party, Bhumjaithai Party, Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, Chartthaipattana Party, Democrat Party, Kla Tham Party, Prachachat Party, and Chart Pattana Party. The event featured a four-course Western meal, and the atmosphere was described as pleasant by reporters who were present.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister addressed concerns raised by reporters regarding the payment for the meal. He clarified that paying 7,000 baht per person does not violate any laws, as each attendee covered their own expenses, similar to the American practice of sharing costs. Prior to the dinner, Mr. Anutin had already scanned and paid for the meal, ensuring transparency in the financial aspect of the gathering.

The dinner menu consisted of a four-course Western meal. The courses included Boston lobster with pickled rock melon and tarragon, pan-seared foie gras with Madeira cherry sauce, grilled wagyu beef with caramelized onions, and a choice between braised Dover fish roll or grilled caramelized duck Challon. Dessert options featured mille-feuille with rose cream, raspberry, petit fours, champagne sorbet, and a selection of coffee and tea.
