Bangkok: Bhumjaithai Party MPs rushed to parliament to vote on the People's Party's proposed bill, but were too late. The MPs had initially gathered at the Bhumjaithai Party's meeting room for discussions on government formation. However, they departed rapidly to ensure their participation in the vote on the Pollution Release and Transport Reporting and Disclosure Act (PRTR), proposed by the People's Party and civil society, as they had pledged to support it.
According to Thai News Agency, the MPs left their meeting at 5:45 PM and arrived within 30 minutes at the party. They had to hurry back to the House floor, but the journey took over 35 minutes, causing them to miss the vote. This situation occurred despite the Bhumjaithai Party's recent agreement with the People's Party, following the latter's support for Bhumjaithai Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister.
During the House of Representatives meeting, Pheu Thai MPs intervened, attempting to contact the Bhumjaithai Party. However, the MPs were unable to return on time as Mr. Chalat Khamchuang, the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, adjourned the meeting just five minutes after they had left the Bhumjaithai Party.
