Singapore: Singapore has stepped up monitoring of air quality after observing a surge in hotspots and smoke activity in part of Indonesia over the weekend. The National Environment Agency (NEA) reported that hotspots and dense smoke plumes were detected mainly in Kalimantan and southern Sumatra, while some smoke plumes were also observed in Riau, raising the possibility of hazy conditions affecting Singapore in the coming days.
According to Nam News Network, the NEA stated that Singapore's 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) ranged from 68 to 90, which falls within the Moderate range, on Monday. The central region recorded a PSI reading of 91 as of 2 pm. "Dry conditions are expected to persist during the week," the NEA added.
