Buriram: Anutin Charnvirakul, former Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, expressed confidence that all actions regarding the Khao Kradong land dispute were conducted in accordance with legal requirements and court decisions.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed the Ministry of the Interior's announcement concerning the investigation results into the Khao Kradong land in Buriram Province. The land, confirmed to be owned by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), has been ordered to be revoked by the Ministry, effective August 2nd, following Supreme Court and Administrative Court orders. Anutin raised concerns about the potential impact on residents and their rights, emphasizing that the process adhered to legal standards.
Anutin stated that while speaking further on the issue could be perceived as protective, he remains confident in the legal compliance of everyone involved. He emphasized the importance of accountability, urging all parties to take responsibility for their actions. Anutin called for adherence to legal protocols and cautioned against politicizing the matter, stressing the importance of national protection, sovereignty, and public safety.
When questioned about his focus on political versus border issues, Anutin clarified that although not in a position of authority, it was essential for all citizens to manage local situations responsibly. He cited the example of the evacuation center at Buriram racetrack, highlighting the collective Thai effort to assist tens of thousands of migrants without political interference.
