Yala Tightens Security at the Venue for the Boat Procession

Yala: Officials are tightening security measures at the Youth Center following an explosion. Security forces are maintaining safety at the traditional boat procession along the route.

According to Thai News Agency, in the incident where three pipe bombs were planted at the Yala Municipality Youth Center this morning, officials remain on high alert and are strictly monitoring the area. Today marks the first day of the Yala Municipality Boat Procession, which will run until October 10th. Meanwhile, municipal officials are expediting the removal of trash cans where the bombs were placed. At the boat procession, various temples are seen pulling their boats out of their temples, with security personnel on hand to maintain safety along the route.

The bomb disposal team, investigating the scene, determined that the bomb used by the perpetrators was a pipe bomb with no shrapnel and was detonated using a digital circuit. The initial motive is suspected to be a plot to create a situation, show off the capabilities of the terrorist group, and instill fear in the public.
