Buddhists Gather Along Mekong River to Offer Alms to 500 Monks

Phon phisai district: A large number of Buddhists gathered to offer alms to 500 monks on the occasion of the end of Buddhist Lent at the International Buddhist Park on the banks of the Mekong River in Phon Phisai District, Nong Khai Province. Phra Khru Suwannaratanasunthorn, the abbot of Rattanawapi District and abbot of Wat Pho Chai, presided over the ceremony, and Mr. Sompop Samitasiri, the governor of Nong Khai Province, presided over the ceremony.

According to Thai News Agency, Buddhists dressed in white participated in the offering of alms, a significant meritorious act that occurs once a year. This ceremony preserves and maintains a cultural tradition, promotes Buddhism, and brings happiness, prosperity, and auspiciousness to lives.
