Woman Arrested for Hiding Methamphetamine Pills After Motorcycle Accident

Khon kaen: A 35-year-old woman was arrested by police for hiding methamphetamine pills at a hospital. The incident unfolded at Manchakhiri Hospital in Khon Kaen Province following a motorcycle accident where a motorcycle ran a red light and rear-ended a pickup truck. The woman, identified as Ms. Suphanni, was suffering from nose and mouth bleeding, two broken front teeth, and chest pain and was sent for an X-ray.

According to Thai News Agency, as the hospital staff prepared Ms. Suphanni for the X-ray by instructing her to remove her clothing and jewelry, a blue plastic box unexpectedly fell to the floor. The box broke upon impact, scattering pills throughout the room. Alongside the pills, three small ziplock bags containing suspected narcotics were discovered. The radiology room staff promptly alerted the Manchakhiri Police Station to investigate, and it was initially confirmed that the items were indeed narcotics.

Ms. Suphanni, however, denied any knowledge of the narcotics, refused to provide a statement, and cried throughout the incident. Authorities waited for doctors to attend to her injuries before escorting her to the Manchakhiri Police Station for questioning. Upon counting the evidence, police found 458 methamphetamine pills and over 11,000 baht in cash in her shoulder bag. Consequently, she was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and use of methamphetamine.
